The University of Tulsa, also known as simply TU, is a private university located in Tulsa, which is a city in the US state of Oklahoma, with a population estimated at a number of more than 385 000 inhabitants, fact which makes it the second largest city in the state and the 46th-largest city in the United States. The city served as the county seat of Tulsa County, which is the most densely populated county in Oklahoma, also extending into Osage, Rogers, and Wagoner counties.
TU was founded in 1882, as the Presbyterian School for Indian Girls, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, under the leadership of Alice Mary Robertson, and it was re-chartered as the Henry Kendall College in 1894, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Women's Board of Home Missions, moving to its curent location, in Tulsa, OK, in 1907, in 1920 merging with the proposed McFarlin College, becoming the University of Tulsa.

The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, in numerous fields of study, through its 6 colleges, programs, and departments, which include: Collins College of Business (formerly College of Business Administration), College of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Henry Kendall College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Law.
TU's athletic teams are known as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, which compete in NCAA Division I, the university being a member of Conference USA, in various sports, including in football and basketball, as well as in women's golf, in which they won 4 national championships, also winning 2 in men's basketball, in the past years.
